Sadly, Margarette Leach passed away from us over the holiday and women in West Virginia have much to thank her for. Delegate Leach was a quiet but effective legislator and she will be much missed. Any of us who have operated in the political environment sought her advice and counsel. Her moral compass was unwavering, her compassion for those she served uncompromising. We were fortunate to know her and West Virginia was fortunate for her public service.
Funeral services were this morning. You can leave a message for the family on the funeral home website by clicking here.

Glenwood Elementary Families Xmas
There just aren't enough words of praise and thanks for those of you who participated in providing toys, household items, clothes and Christmas gifts for the Glenwood Elementary families we adopted just before Christmas. Eight families had a Christmas that was brighter because of your efforts. I'm just proud to know all of you and the family and friends you brought with you. You are just the best Elves I ever met, and thanks doesn't seem to quite cover it.
From collecting money, organizing the teams, shopping for the cause, wrapping to distributing the gifts, the effort was truly monumental. My hope is that each of you experienced one moment as I did that gave you the true feeling of Christmas. None of this could have been pulled off without your help. But you are truly remarkable.
Our first holiday party was a huge success despite the schedule most of you keep. We plan to do it again because it was just a lot of fun. The Vault was a wonderful place for the Christmas fete and the food catered by the South Hills Market & Café was great – we recommend both to all.
If I'm not mistaken, a great deal of catching up was accomplished so we're all pretty much dished out for now. But stay tuned. We plan a repeat event come springtime. It was great seeing all of you and comforting to know you'd take time out of your busy holiday season to spend some time with like-minded Democratic women.
