Elf Teams Shaping Up - With A Minor Correction

Christmas for Glenwood Elementary Families
Before we begin, I must correct an error in our teams. Elf Team #2 is actually headed by Carrie Webster. Elf Team #3 is headed by LaRee Naviaux. I'm so sorry for the mistake but we've obviously been doing a lot of juggling. So please forgive me.

However, people are beginning to join teams for the Christmas Organizing Party that will begin at 10am on Saturday, December 22 nd at the New Covenant Community Development Center on the West Side of Charleston ( 2nd Avenue ). The staging center for wrapping, organizing and distribution are compliment of Pastor James Ealy, the pastor at New Covenant Baptist Church. Thank you Pastor Ealy.

We have six families to provide Christmas for and six teams to pull it off which means getting presents delivered for wrapping, and distribution on that Saturday. So here are the Elf Teams we have so far with the names of each Head Elf. There's still plenty of time left to become an Elf and we can really use your help. Heaven know you won't get many other chances at Elfery, although I'm not quite sure what it adds to your resume.

So please, be as generous as you can. T his solicitation drive is a Charleston DREMA Dems project but even if you are not a member we welcome your contribution.

Money is the easiest to give so please make checks out to Glenwood Elementary. They can be dropped of at the law office of Carrie Webster located @ Bucci, Bailey and Javins, 213 Hale Street, Charleston - 25301 or her home located @ 1539 Lee Street East – Charleston - 25311 between now and December 21st. If you have questions or want more information please contact Carrie Webster at 345-0346 or 546-3450. She will be available until December 21st.

Another mail drop for your check or donated items is Sharon Spencer located @ 1013 Pine Road, Charleston, WV 25314. Sharon can be reached at 345-7099. Remember, checks should be made out to Glenwood Elementary.

What's Needed?
7 Beds needed (two queen/double and five twins; and 1 hospital bed) - Sharon Spencer is working on beds and transportation for them - her number is 552-8353.

Household items like toiletries, food, and Christmas decorations will be greatly appreciated.   Gently used items are just fine for decorations, clothes, and toys. These items can also be dropped off at the above locations and Elf Teams will make sure their assigned family receives your generous donation.

Give of your time, or give a contribution to bring Christmas to the families listed below. We need volunteer to serve as team leaders to head up the Christmas Cheering for each family. So select and decide if and how you might help.

We're short of time and much elfery will be needed to pull this one off. Your help at this time of year will mean more than you'll ever know. CASH, decorations, food & presents needed from new and gently used sources will be up to each Head Elf leading their team of Elf Volunteers. I know the time is short, but I've seen you all pull off miracles bigger than this before. Please help us out this year.
