The DREMA Dems depend on you. We are grateful for your financial support. Renewing your membership and recruiting other new members will keep us strong as we move forward. We've collected $2,025.00 of our $10,000 goal. So please, keep your checks coming. We love you for your generosity.
Later this week we'll be sending you a survey that we'd like you to fill out and forward to friends. We won't use your name and your answers will be kept confidential.
But to be effective, we need to know from you directly what we can do as an organization to keep you involved. What kinds of things do you like to do, what are you prepared to do, what role can the DREMA Dems play to keep you active in the upcoming political season?
Again your answers will be kept confidential. We just need you to help us chart our course. So stay tuned. The New DREMA Dems Survey will be coming to you soon.
Last week angry anti-abortion protestors showed up in Charleston. They were creepy, combative and frightening. Those who saw them saw the face of violence first hand. Women clinics were targeted and today, choice groups ask for your assistance if you are brave enough to help out.
Our local clinics no longer have an active list of escorts they can call on in crisis situations. Volunteers are needed to escort women in and out of clinics when anti-choice extremists show up to harass women in need of reproductive health. We ask you to consider volunteering to help shield women in need. To sign-up please email margaret.chapman7@verizon.net.

Please support for U.S. Senate Bill 1257 “DC House Voting Rights Act”. This bill is coming up for a vote the week of September 17, 2007 and WV Senator Byrd is one of the votes needed to pass this bill.
Nearly, 600,000 people live in D.C., all of which are denied voting representation in Congress. The D.C. citizens have to abide by the laws voted on in Congress, but have no way of shaping them. Some of these issues include military service, federal taxes, voting rights, education, economy and business, and law.
The DC House Voting Rights Act would establish DC as a congressional district, not as a state, for the purposes of representation in the House, and Washingtonians would receive a vote in the United States Congress for the first time ever.
This is Constitutional. The Constitution gives Congress exclusive legislative authority over DC in Article I, Section 8, Clause 17. It has been held that the Congress has the authority to grant the District of Columbia full congressional voting representation by passing simple legislation.
If you believe that everyone has the right to vote, please help us in this historical move. I need you to contact Senator Byrd's office to show that West Virginia supports everyone's right to vote.
You can contact Senator Byrd at any of the following:

Alan Greenspan claims Iraq war was really for oil
'A moment I've been dreading. George brought his ne'er-do-well son around this morning and asked me to find the kid a job. Not the political one who lives in Florida. The one who hangs around here all the time looking shiftless. This so-called kid is already almost 40 and has never had a real job. Maybe I'll call Kinsley over at The
New Republic and see if they'll hire him as a contributing editor or something. That looks like easy work.'
