Unless you plan to vote early – you have until this Saturday - the May 13th Primary is less than one week away. For those of us on the ballot now is the time you’ll find us a bit unglued. Despite the fact we’ve all tried to do everything we can think of to get the vote out, there are always things that could have been done and should have been done. The question is whether or not we did enough to court your vote.
If you’re an Independent, remember to ask specifically for the Democrat ballot because we want to be your party of change. It’s a big honor and a flattering responsibility knowing so many of you have registered for this election. None of us want to let you down. We promise to do our best to be good stewards of your vote.
In case you haven’t noticed, we have been making incremental changes since 2004 - but ever so slowly. Without your vote needed to get the job done from the White House to the State House to the Court Houses we will continue to be mired in the mess that’s cutting off the oxygen supply to every citizen in America.
For my part, I can only say thank you for believing that Hope Floats and that all it takes is for you to stick by your guns, show up at the polls and vote for the changes you know we need.
