Chelsea Clinton to kick-off WV Young Dems Convention on Friday
The West Virginia Young Democrats are pleased to announce that former first daughter Chelsea Clinton will speak during the organization's convention kick-off event at 5:00 this Friday evening at the Charleston Civic Center (Room 202). The Young Dems already have a very exciting lineup of speakers throughout the convention, and the addition of Chelsea Clinton will make the weekend truly unforgettable. The kick-off event is free and open to the public. The complete agenda for the weekend is available on the WVYD website at www.wvyoungdems.org.
Tickets are still available for Saturday night’s convention keynote dinner with Christine Pelosi. Members of the general public who are not Young Dems can purchase a ticket for the Pelosi dinner for $50 each by contacting Kanawha Valley Young Democrats President Travis Mollohan at 304-345-2794 or tmollohan@hotmail.com. Complimentary tickets have already been mailed to all WVYD Jennings Randolph Society members. Of course, those Young Dems registered for the convention will be admitted to the Pelosi keynote dinner for free.

Dear Friend,
Any candidate for Congress would be thrilled to have the support of a United States Senator but, as you might imagine, the endorsement of Senator Robert C. Byrd has special significance for me. For 21 years, I served as his state director in West Virginia, and his guidance and example have meant the world to me.
I remember the day he delivered his historic speech on the Senate floor against the invasion of Iraq. Our phone lines, fax machines and email servers lit up -- and as you might guess, the response was not universally positive. But the evidence now is clear: Senator Byrd was right.
This is the kind of leader I want to be in Congress: A representative with the courage, wisdom and conviction to do what is right for her constituents and her country.
I want to help end this war, to bring our brave troops home with honor, and care for them properly when they return. I want to make the economy work for the middle class, and repair our nation's crumbling infrastructure. I want to provide access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans, and to protect bedrock programs such as Social Security and Medicare.
Please help me deliver my message of change to the people of the 2nd Congressional District by contributing to my campaign. The end of the FEC fundraising quarter ends tonight at midnight, and I am asking for your support.
Together, we can make a better West Virginia and a better America.
With my deepest thanks,
Anne Barth

EVERYTHING'S COOL is a film about America finally "getting" global warming in the wake of the most dangerous chasm ever to emerge between scientific understanding and political action. While industry funded nay-sayers sing what just might be their swan song of pseudo- scientific deception, a group of global warming messengers are on a high stakes quest to find the iconic image, the magic language, the points of leverage that will finally create the political will to move the United States from its reliance on fossil fuels to the new clean energy economy - AND FAST.
The 1 hour film will be followed by a discussion on global warming and our region's impact.
