Frustration mounts as West Virginia 's citizens watch while other states choose who will appear on our presidential ballot in 2008.
The later a state's primary date the less power their citizens have in deciding the next Commander and Chief, according to one group. “The media is now reporting that the upcoming Super Tuesday primary, when 24 states hold primary elections, will be the final determinant of the presidential contenders,” said Rev. Jim Lewis of the West Virginia Patriots for Peace. “To try to remedy this unjust state of affairs, we're launching a straw poll for West Virginians at www.votewv.net.”
Mollohan Announces Support for Candidacy of Anne Barth in 2nd District Congressional Race
Congressman Alan Mollohan has announced his support for the candidacy of Anne Barth in her campaign to represent the people of the Second Congressional District of West Virginia in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mollohan said he has great confidence in the skill and experience of Barth who filed to be a candidate for the Congressional seat last week.
“West Virginias across the state have long known Anne and of her great capacity for compassion, her talent for getting tough work done and loyalty to their well being,” Mollohan said of the long-time staffer for U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd. “I know she will make a wonderful Congresswoman and I am proud to support her candidacy.”
This afternoon, a vote by Sen. Rockefeller can help make the difference between letting President Bush cover up his illegal eavesdropping on Americans or holding him accountable. Tell Sen. Rockefeller to oppose immunity for phone companies that helped Bush illegally spy.
